First Stop Banff

March 12, 2016 by Jae Leave a Comment

Around September 2015, My boyfriend and I decided to go to Banff and that was the first time we traveled out of town together. It was a bit chilly but it was all worth it since I love nature tripping and the company.

We stayed at Hidden Ridge Resort and they have hot springs (happiness!). We did a bit of grocery just to avoid eating out too much and spending more. It was actually a nice experience with the boyfie because I learned I can never go hungry with him around… Yes! he can cook superb! We had a nice stay there. It’s good to travel with your boyfriend that way you get to know more about each other.

We went to different lakes and seen a lot of falls. we did a bit of a hike but not that crazy crazy hike.

First time to use crampons (athabasca glacier)

Gondola experience

So far it is one of the best experience in my entire existence but actually anywhere is okay as long as I am with my love. I had fun and the best part, we didn’t get eaten by bears. Shout out to my baby boo! Someone whose presence will always be more than enough.. I love you <3 ESY. peace out!

My Hair Story

March 11, 2016 by Jae Leave a Comment

Hi. So naturally, I have straight black hair and ever since I was small, I never really like tying my hair up. I would always run away from my mom and cry. Up to now, I still don’t like to tie my hair up but I don’t run away and cry just because of that lol! (imagine) Plus, I never learned how to tie my hair until I was in college because I had to since I was taking nursing. (Or maybe i just don’t want to learn..that’s different). So anyways, So you know my usual hair style is plain and i like my hair loose until I had my first heartbreak that I tried different hair styles, perm it, dye it, yeah try anything..just to feel good and look good. in short, I lost my hair’s virginity (heh heh!)

1911847_639849619454000_4378985498717624326_n

Moving forward, So my hair is no longer a virgin and after perming and dyeing it so many times, it became super brittle and dry. I had to go to salon for treatment and it’s too pricey (what i’m no rich kid). Lesson: It’s too expensive to have your heart I mean your hair fixed πŸ˜› But no regrets I looked gooooddd hehehhehe. But yeah still never learned my lesson and worst, I became obsessed with hair dyes.. and I know it’s an unhealthy obsession. They say you can dye your hair twice a year and no more than that (ask an expert, I’m not one).

So from damaging my hair, i had to chop it off and made a promise that I will forever take good care of my hair. I get too scared of getting bald too because I noticed my hair is thinning probably because of stress? or could be the hair products. Any suggestions? So right now these are the things that I do for my hair:

  1. I started taking Biotin (they say it’s good for your hair but just a trial)
  2. I don’t wash my hair everyday (I know for Filipinos, this is haaaarrrdd) they say wash it twice a week but I’m doing it every other day because it’s torture.
  3. I had to use shampoo that’s suitable for my hair (I am currently trying the salon shampoos since I’ve had bad experiences with the commercial shampoos) Some anti-dandruff shampoos cause too much hair fall (from my experience)
  4. Every time I shampoo my hair, I use cold water and I count 60/1 minute
  5. I use wide tooth comb when combing my hair when it’s wet and I try to avoid using hair dryers
  6. I like using the Goody paddle brush to give my hair volume once it’s dry
  7. Plus the argan oil for hair to give my hair some love πŸ˜‰

And my hair continues to live happily ever after…Peace Out πŸ™‚

My Faves

March 11, 2016 by Jae Leave a Comment

One of my favorite things is the kate spade backpack i got as a birthday present from my ‘ate’. Actually its a bit pricey so i had to half it with her. I super duper love it that I use it whenever I travel coz it’s convenient to use. I never liked big bags since I am petite and I’m trying to just travel light. I only have a few bags (maybe 5?) since I feel you don’t need too many but there were times that it doesn’t match the outfit so I’d just be like screw the bag.. lol #girlproblems But yeah I am somewhat trying to just have what I really really need because as you grow older, you’d realize it’s too expensive out there so gotta save more. (wehh!)

My favorite watch is this swatch watch in gold. You’ll see me wear it all the time. for almost 4years, it’s still working fine i changed the batteries twice but it’s still in good condition. I get a lot of compliments from it by mostly men lol! I’m serious! even a stranger asked me where I got this watch. Also, I like how its multi functional because it looks like a bracelet andΒ  at the same time its a watch. i really really like it to the point i wear it 7days a week. But yeah I only have 2 watches. Trying to be a minimalist yo!

New Year’s Resolution

March 11, 2016 by Jae Leave a Comment

It’s March already and i haven’t started on my year 2016 resolution. For some, it’s not really a necessity to write one but I am one of those few that makes it a habit to write a new year’s resolution so I have what i would say “mini goals” to accomplish for this year towards a better me. I also like to see if I have improved and reflect on the past year and what I have been doing with my life my gee! but well just don’t kill my vibe–i just like doing it.. it’s FUN πŸ˜› So here they are..

  1. Be myself more, don’t mind what other people would say
  2. Think less and just do what I need to do..
  3. Improve on how I dress and look and discover my own personal style.. I know i like just the basics but they say you wear what you want to be treated so I need to work on this..
  4. Be more confident and less shy..
  5. Be more understanding and patient..
  6. Work towards that dream career— working on it
  7. Devote time to God..I know no matter how busy life gets, we should still find time for the reason of why we are living and be thankful

So there you go.. May this year be a best year for all of us and PEACE OUT =)

First Off

March 4, 2016 by Jae Leave a Comment

So here I am in front of my laptop thinking of what to write here. I couldn’t think of any and just remembered why I started this blog. Btw, My name is Jae and I was born in the beautiful island of the Philippines. My family and I migrated to Canada back in 2008 and before then I was having a hard time making a conversation in english. Sure I can understand english and can write but I was too shy back then and was not comfortable in speaking the language. I only hang out with Filipinos and that’s not helping me. So after a few years and with a lot of encouragement from my boyfriend, I started this blog. I think this is a good hobby aside from reading. Why not be productive when off work right? Plus it will help me with my grammar but I still got the Filipino accent waaahhhh! and yeah I used to like writing stories when I was in HS so I might start writing again and publish it here to make things interesting.

Anyways, I hope I dont bore you and please excuse my english..I will be posting more hohoho! Peace Out <3

If you live in Toronto area and you love chicken and waffles like me, there’s a cool spot around Liberty Village.. the place is called School of Toronto which a friend recommended. I ordered this chicken & waffle and was satisfied although there was a bit of a wait.
